Linnie Pullover Sweater

The pattern is Linnie by Justyna Lorkowska.

After the Little Bit of Bling Sweater, I still had enough of the red/orange yarn to make another Linnie sweater yoke. This time I decided to change the pattern a bit and make it a pullover instead of a cardigan. I didn’t want it to be too similar to the Little Bit of Bling Sweater.

This time I used white yarn instead of black, and size 7 needles so it was a size or two bigger.

Like the other sweaters in my knitting spree, all the yarn and buttons were hand-me-downs making this sweater completely free.

A Little Bit of Bling Sweater

I had told myself I’d make gender-neutral sweaters, but I failed. The yarn could have maybe been gender-neutral, but the crystal buttons made it a little too girly for a boy.

The pattern is a free pattern called Linnie by Justyna Lorkowska.

I used Size 4 needles and added button the whole way down instead of just having 3 buttons.

Both the two yarns and the buttons were hand-me-downs. I have been saving these buttons for years and I thought they looked adorable against the black yarn and added a bit of bling.

This sweater is a little special to me because I started it a couple days before my wedding and finished it a little after. So this will be saved for our first little girl.

Laundry Room Makeover

Last summer I took down the one wire shelf in the laundry room and put up more wooden shelves. I had bigger plans for painting the room and making it cute but I never got around to it.

After we painted the guestroom we had almost a full gallon of paint left, so I decided to finally decorate the laundry room.

The before pictures show the room with everything removed and all the holes I had to fill.

I painted the walls and stained the pine shelves.

This was the finished project… then the washer broke and the new one was taller.

This is the current state of the laundry room. I need to raise the bottom shelf and remove that energy sticker (It will not come off easily) then it will officially be finished.

Lessons on Patience and New Bed

A few months ago we started redecorating the house. The first room we did was the guestroom. We moved all the fabric items from the master bedroom to the guestroom. I love the guestroom, but it means our room is a huge work in progress. I know what I want it to look like but it’s not a priority so it is slow going.

However after this weekend we are one step closer. After two trips to Memphis in one day we have an almost empty garage and our new bed! Seeing that currently we have squares of paint samples on the walls and temporary drapes (one isn’t even hung right) a bed may not be that big deal to most but it made me happy.

Here is the real reason it makes me so happy, I practiced patience and got the perfect bed. I’m not trying to brag, I have NO patience at all, so this was a huge thing for me.

When I thought out the plan for the bedroom I wanted a specific looking bed. I started looking for beds but didn’t see any like I had envisioned. Then I found one that kinda looked like what I wanted in a magazine, I looked it up to find the price….$1,999! I didn’t love it that much.

So I waited and waited. Then on my birthday, my mom texted me a picture of the perfect bed! Her friend was moving and auctioning off a lot of her old furniture. We bid and won the bed for about $150.

The morning I was driving up to Memphis to pick up the bed, I had a thought. The Lord was probably teaching me to be patience. I could have gone out and bought a bed I didn’t really like and then I would have wasted that money. God says he will provide. He doesn’t say he will provide necessities and we are on our own for everything else, He says he will provide, everything. Most would think it’s trivial for Him to bother providing the bed I dreamed about. But doesn’t that make Him so much more amazing? He even cares about the little things.

All I can say is that I am so thankful for the new bed and I will try to have patience in the future.
