Make Believe Socks

I told a friend I’d make him socks for his birthday. I let him pick the yarn and coincidentally he chose the same yarn another friend got me for my birthday. I love this yarn; it is soft and easy to knit with and also comes in lovely colors. To make these socks I used Stroll Hand Painted SockYarn in “Make Believe.”

Even though the color is variegated and beautiful, I have a problem knitting socks entirely in one color. So I decided to do the heels and toes in a different color. I looked through my stash of yarn and narrowed it down to a blue (that matched a blue in the yarn) or pink. I was leaning toward the pink and then I remembered when my friend was picking the yarn his daughter wanted him to get pink, and I knew he would find the pink awesome.

Good news is he loved them and did think the pink was awesome. Bad news is now I really want to use the pink for my pair of socks, but I don’t have enough… and I don’t remember where I got the pink so I can’t get more.

I’m so glad he liked the socks and hopefully mine will look as cool as his.
