Baby Kicks and Glucose

Yesterday was an exciting day.
Baby Isaac was 24 weeks and very active. Active enough that Vince felt him kick for the first time!

We had our midwife appointment and she asked how his movements were. I told her he moves a lot, but that he either stops or doesn’t kick hard enough for others to feel. I guess he heard that and decided he would let Daddy feel him kick.

It cracked me up because we were sitting there last night and I felt him kicking and then there was a big kick that made my stomach move. I told Vince to come feel, “Come here, that was a big one you have to be able to feel it… but watch him stop kicking now.”  Vince sat there for a moment and then Isaac kicked, Vince smiled, and I knew he felt it.

Today I had the nasty Glucose test and Isaac was the only one there to keep me company. He was nice and active which didn’t help the drink sit well.

I have to say, whoever decided to make a pregnant woman fast and then drink a nasty drink had to be an idiot. I have never been so hungry and thirsty in my entire life.
Part of me wanted to skip the test altogether, but since I was adopted and we don’t know my family history we thought it was best to have it done. Thankfully its over!

Now the doctor visits are over and I only have to see the midwives… and wait… I know it will be over before I know it, but I cant wait to hold him.
